We've gotten off to a great start in TAGS! Here's a little information about what our classes are learning.
Our 2nd and 3rd graders are working on a unit all about New Orleans. They are learning about the wetlands, hurricanes, the food, music, and rich culture of the area. They will even be making mini floats and hosting a Mardi Gras parade!
Our 4th graders are exploring New York City! From famous artists and landmarks to museums and theaters, they are learning a lot about the city that never sleeps! They're conducting an experiment to discover why Lady Liberty is green and building 3D replicas of skyscrapers!
Our 5th graders are traveling into Outer Space to learn all about our Solar System and Galaxy! They are using mixtures and solutions to create homemade clay to make models of the planets; using creative writing to share what they're learning; and creating models of the entire Milky Way Galaxy.
Our 6th graders are learning about graphic design, marketing, and manufacturing. They are working on a project in which they are designing t-shirts, researching marketing strategies, making a sales pitch to a younger audience, and then "selling" their shirts. They will be charting and graphing their profits and losses and making adjustments to their plans as they discover the world of economics.
