Dismissal Procedures for Inclement Weather

Dear Parents,

Below are some of the typical adjustments that could be made to our regularly scheduled day in response to inclement weather. We will make every effort to make a decision on school opening/closing as soon as possible to lessen the impact for parents and students. We keep close watch on the weather all through the night and keep in close contact with our neighboring districts and emergency management officials. Our number one goal is to always provide a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and parents. Because of having to comply with state rules of students attending school for 180 days each school year, we nearly always have to make up days that are missed.

The first line of communication is our automatic call system. Please make sure that the school your child attends has the most up-to-date phone number on file.

Next, local news channels will be contacted. We will also utilize social media in the form of Twitter (@TateCoSchools), Facebook (Tate County School District), and the district website (tatecountyschools.org) to get the message out as well.

Thank you for your continued support in working to provide a safe and excellent education to all of our students.

Remember, together there is no limit to what we can do!
